Vaccines, anniversaries and spring break

Happy Spring, everyone!  With the weather warming and vaccinations happening, there is hopeful change all around us.  The boys are pleased to report that Mummy has been fully vaccinated as a volunteer at our county clinic, and Dad is awaiting his second shot from a clinic in Leavenworth.

The fish are waking up and the cats have discovered the great outdoors.  In the August '20 entry, we showed a picture of Conner walking Smink on a leash.  She likes it much better untethered, but this picture shows her as far away from the back porch as she is currently allowed to go.

For the first time in many years, we had no plans whatsoever for Spring Break.  So crazy to look back at this time last year and see two trips to Marco Island and then...Covid.  So this year, we did a staycation, highlighted by a trip to LV to help Grandpa with several big trees that needed to come down and be split for firewood.  The boys loved it!

Conner has been itching to use his new roof rack, and thanks to the generosity of neighbor and friend Craig Adams, he got to take a kayak to Perry Lake during the break.  He has been consistently fishing even through the winter.  This would have been a 100% successful outing if not for the strong winds.

Thneed is sitting in front of Conner's bedroom door in protest that he began in-person school this month.  She has thoroughly enjoyed having the whole family home all the time.  Carson chose not to go back in-person because he goes to the school every afternoon for track practice. Conner was very happy for a change to the "school in your bedroom" routine.

Another celebration that got seriously minimized due to the pandemic was Mummy and Daddy's 20th wedding anniversary.  No big trip, no big party.  But we did have this fun ice cream cake with our wedding monogram on top.

No, this isn't photoshopped.  Dad got to hang out for a full hour on Zoom, one-on-one with actor Rob Riggle.  Kind of a cool bucket list thing through work.  Rob is a KU alum, and now Dad says they're best buds...fully expecting a role in Rob's next movie.  :-)
