Conner's awesome room

Hiya!  Seems odd to open a post titled "Conner's awesome room" with a Valentines Card from Carson.  But this is our February post, and its a pretty sweet card, right?

Here's the man.  And his bedroom.  Conner has become the curator of a pretty impressive bedroom museum.  He keeps the room very clean, and rotates the museum exhibits regularly.

The sparkle doesn't shine through very well in this photo, but one of his exhibits highlights his geode collection.  At night, he dazzles museum visitors by turning the overhead light off and shining a multi-LED spotlight on the crystals.  Also pictured is his underwater lego display.

The room has an overall ocean theme. Most of his fossils are found locally, which places them in the sea creature category.  He is quick to explain to museum visitors that Kansas was once covered in a shallow sea.

Carson does not maintain a museum-like bedroom.  He maintains more of a tornado-like bedroom.  Here he is all wrapped up after his evening shower.

We reported last month that Conner has raced his last pinewood derby.  Here is Carson in his second-to-last race.  Both cars did well, and the boys really enjoy the derby.  Conner passed over to boy scouts this month, and Carson is now a Webelos II. Look, Grandma!  He's wearing Daddy's old neckerchief slide.  :-)

Finally got enough snow to try out the snowboards!  Not nearly as easy as sledding...  Both boys bit it on numerous occasions, although this picture only shows one of them doing a faceplant.

Basketball is over for the year, and now we begin indoor soccer.  Both boys are on the same team, and make up a pretty daunting pair on the defensive end.  Conner has played several games as goalie, and Carson is a blur on the field.

That's all for now.  We hope spring 2015 finds you aniticipating nice weather and a resurgence of nature's beautiful colors.
