Early spring happenings

"How YOU doin?" says Conner. "Eeeaaalllaaalleee!" says Carson. Happy springtime, everyone. We are so happy the weather has finally warmed for good. It has been too long since we updated the blog, so here goes!

Mummy and Daddy celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary this month. Holy cow! Half of that time without kiddos, half of it with. Time certainly flies. We celebrated with little fanfare, because we chose to give each other a big huge home addition for our anniversary presents.

St. Patrick's Day for the Marshes means helping with the Sandbar float, and then getting to ride on it as a reward. Above you see the two little construction workers having a good time and doing exactly what SuperDave tells them to...

The Sandbar outdoes itself every year, and we are crazy lucky to be a part of their float. This year it was an island theme, complete with working volcano and very cool music. The three CNMs wore grass skirts and shirts with big muscles painted on. Below is a pic of Conner sporting the outfit.

It was nice and warm for the parade this year, which made the island theme easier to pull off. Last year it was very cold, so thank goodness last year was midevil castle year instead of island volcano year!

Carson is doing pretty well in school, so we bumped him up a few grades and he graduated from Lawrence High this month. Traditional cap, camo gown...

The big news is the home addition project. We still haven't officially started it, but we've been working a lot on the back yard, getting it ready for the project to begin. The boys are good helpers, and we try to balance productivity with fun. Above, they show off their fort made from the old turtle habitat, bricks from our street and a 50+ year old wooden bin from the basement.

We have to take several big trees out of the back yard, demo the screened in back porch (wipe tear from eye) and move the fish pond. Above, Conner takes a break from digging the hole for the new fish pond. Not only do both boys enjoy the digging, but as you may have guessed Conner has been searching for treasures in the process.

We promise not to take such a long time before our next post. Hope life is great for you and your family/friends. Come over sometime this spring or summer to see the work on our house. We are about to travel some uncharted waters, living in a house that is getting worked on. But it is exciting, and we'll be sure to keep you posted!
