Snow days and monster trucks

Hello everyone!  Just barely squeeked in a February post.  We've been busy not going to school...  three out of the last six days have been snow days, and Lawrence has gotten more snow in a one week period than it may have ever gotten before.

So the CNMs have been sledding, shoveling, fort building, you name it.  The crowning acheivement was this car-sized snow fort with a slide entrance.  Conner could have stayed in it all day!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!  It was actually a Friday, but Uncle Ted and cousin Alex joined us for an unforgettable experience at the Sprint Center.  Monster Jam 2013.  At the end of the amazing event, Grave Digger (pictured above) blew its engine and filled the stadium with smoke.  The boys loved it.

We had crazy close seats, which mandated earplugs for everyone.  You can see we were three rows from the front, and that is Captain America flying high just a few feet away.

Sticking with the cool automobile theme, we enjoyed this year's Pinewood Derby.  We worked a little harder on the cars this year, and placed respectably in all our races.  Mummy helped make the cars look very spiffy and Daddy made sure they were right at 5 ounces.

Carson's white-flamed green racer is pictured above, three cars from the left, front row.  Yes, green is his color and yes, number eight for his age...

Conner's retro silver racer is in the middle row, far right.  Tone-on-tone number nine for his age...Daddy said it looked like Sylvester Stalone's Cobra from the 80s.

So, winter has us in her grip for just a little bit longer, and we are enjoying the snow while we peak around the corner in gleeful anticipation of spring!!
