Fishing and running, running and fishing

We are approaching the end of outdoor-activities season.  That is a little scary, because fishing and running is what makes these two boys happy...

We just returned from the annual bonfire with our Kras Connection.  Almost every October blog entry for the last ten years has included a pic of these four boys.  They are really, really growing up.

We are getting pretty good at the trophy catch photograph!  If you hold the fish far in front of you and close to the camera, it looks like you caught a monster.  :-)

Here is a photo of a wonderful moment.  Uncle Sean is the commanding officer of the USS George H.W. Bush, one of the Navy's eleven aircraft carriers.  KU is proud to claim him as an alum, so they invited him and us to the game, where we got to watch from the Chancellor's suite!

The team ended up winning in a big upset, so we think KU really needs to invite us to the suite for all the remaining games of the season...

Wiping tears from our eyes, we say goodbye to the 2018 cross country season.  Carson won every race, and his only real competition was his friend and teamate, Jack P.  Can you even see the rest of the pack behind these two in the pic?

Behind the running of Jack, Gus and Carson, the St. John's team won the overall trophy for CYO 8th graders.  Here they are with Micah and Coach Kennedy.

This is also the last year for Marathon club.  Mummy volunteers to keep the runners on track, and does so Monday afternoons and even early Wednesday mornings!  Why didn't Jack wear his "marathon finisher" shirt for this pic?

Fishig and running, running and fishing.  It has been a good summer/fall for both.  The boys have put in a formal request for more snow this winter so there is still a little outdoor excitement.
