A teenager? Without costume?

Happy 13th, Conner!  Unbelievable.  You are a teenager!  You are a fishing, boy scouting, fossil collecting, honor roll teenager.

We thought it would be nice to get him this Corvette for his b-day.  Nothing too big. just a nice keepsake for #13.  How can it be that this was ten years ago!!

It has been a very warm early fall.  Lots of outdoor activities, including the occasional tree climbing.  Not as much as Daddy would like.  Above, he is trying to convince the boys to join him.

Evidently, when you turn 13 you become too cool for trick-or-treating.  At least Carson was willing to don his Where's Waldo outfit and hit the neighborhood.  He even doled out much of his candy to his bro!  Conner helped Mummy pass out candy to all the younger, less mature kids...

Cross country was good to Carson this year.  He had several good buddies on the team with him.  He finished three of the races in the top 6.  They were races of between 70 and 90 boys!

It was fun to see him catch the competition bug.  He told us he was nervous the week after finishing 4th out of 75.  Didn't know if he could do as well.  Here he is finishing 6th out of 91!!

We finally got together with our Kras Connection in October.  The Parracks hold their annual bonfire and this year it was in the high 70s.  We camped out with them, and discovered that the morning was still a little too chilly for t-shirt and shorts!

Lots of the conversation revolved around these four boys growing up.  It is fun to look back at some fo the blog posts when they were little munchkins.  We do still wish they'd slow down a bit.

The bonfire is on property owned by the Parracks and has a nice fish pond on site.  Conner's first cast brought him the lovely bass pictured at the beginning of this entry.  Maybe next year the fish will be fileted and cooked over the bonfire!

Mummy has been working as second-in-command of the Downtown Lawrence Association.  That has added to our Mass St parties which is cool with the CNMs!  Here we are attending the Lawrence Octoberfest, where the beers were as big as the boys.

Carson joined Daddy for the Homecoming parade and got to sit in the KU engineering school race car.  These cars are always the highlight of the parade.

With hot summers and cold winters, the fall and spring are very welcome times in Lawrence.  We are enjoying the outdoors while we can.  Maybe this year will bring some serious snow our way.  They boys are all in favor of that!
