Social distanced summer

By this time, we sure did think there would be good news about the whole world bouncing back from Covid 19.  Seems like most of the world is, but the U.S. isn’t.  Such a huge bummer.  Anyway, here are some nice flowers to distract from the global mess.

The spring was so beautiful.  We are very lucky that the weather was such a partner during our shelter in place.  Here are the boys all gussied up for Mummy’s b-day party at Mema and Grandpa’s.

Geez, that is a monster fish!  Just a few blocks from our house is the Kansas River, and Conner goes there with a friend a couple times per week.  The current, as you can tell from the pic, is strong enough that we don’t let him fish there alone.  He pulled out this Asian Carp which is not a pretty fish, but freekin huge!

We mentioned in May’s entry that the boys have been finding yard projects to keep themselves busy.  This month, we were shocked to hear Carson suggest the boys switch bedrooms.  He said Conner deserved the big room for his Junior and Senior years.

Father’s Day was yet another celebration that had to happen at home.  But it was great!  The boys offered some special gifts for Dad, and Mummy made a delicious dinner.  Dad loves that this quartet has done so well during this historically crazy time.

Check it out!  Two adolescent Barred Owls decided to hang out with us for a week in June.  They were very cool, and very active during the daylight hours.  The pic doesn’t do justice to how big these guys are.

What a cool evening this was!  Uncle Ted’s backyard played host to a campout this month.  Grandma was watching the house while the occupants visited Marco Island.  We continue to look for creative activities during shelter in place.  Both boys still find yardwork in the neighborhood while Conner fishes and Carson runs with his cross country bros. We fervently hope things begin to improve before our next blog entry!  Stay safe and healthy.
