Birthdays, Championships and Anniversaries

Hard to celebrate birthdays this year.  Hard to celebrate anything, but we did have some big things happen in October.  The biggest was Conner's 17th.  He is an unrestricted driver!!

Coming in as a close second was Carson's cross country team winning the state championship.  It was a super windy day in Augusta, KS which was a 2.5 hour drive from Lawrence. His team is special, and we were proud to be there with them.

Here is a happy 17 year old who got some sweet waders among other fishing-related gifts.  He went out the very next day and drove himself to a pond that had just been stocked with trout.

Carson still pulls out the paintbrushes on occasion.  His subject of choice is usually flowers or birds.  This masterpiece was given to Olivia Goeser for her birthday.

On October 5th, 2000, we bought our house.  Twenty years in the only house we've ever owned!  To celebrate in a socially distanced way, we went to the local history museum and found a gold mine of pictures from 1930s albums kept by the original owners.

And when we posted some of the old pics on Facebook, one of our neighbors sent us some beauties of them hanging out in the house in the 90s.  That is Deb and Katharine in our living room!

We love that there were birthdays, championships and anniversaries to celebrate this month.  We hope there are even more creative ways to celebrate in the months ahead.
