Holiday reflections

Happy New year, everyone! Hope your holidays were fabulous. We certainly did not wish for sub-zero temperatures for the beginning of 2011, but can't complain about the holidays themselves. Here are some fun Christmas pics:

Christmas morning, tearing open the gifts and emptying the stockings. the boys got new bathrobes which they now wear every morning before getting ready for school.

Not pictured are the metal detectors the boys asked Santa for. Can't wait to find all kinds of treasures when the ground thaws! Carson got his other unique wish from Santa: ten rolls of tape! Seems Mummy has repremanded him once too often about using too much tape on his art projects. Now he happily has enough to last...a few months!

When asked what he will be when he grows up, Conner still answers, "a paleontologist!" So you can imagine how jazzed he was to get a big rock with stegasaurus bones hidden inside. It came complete with a hammer, pick, brush and safety goggles! He spent over an hour on the cold back porch excavating.

Puzzles remain a household fav. We stepped it up this year and got a few 750 piece puzzles. The boys love them, but they do require a bit of assistance from the parentals. Mummy looks forward to the day that the living room doesn't have to also be the staging area for so many of our activities...

We spent lots of time with both sides of the family. Grandma Marsh now lives about a 5 minute drive from the Baileys, so we basically have all the g-parents in the same place! Here we are at Grandma's new home with Gamilee.

No Christmas would be complete without Legos. Lots of cool new kits. Conner is sporting a few little creations and his new coveted shark-tooth neclace. He lost another of his own teeth last week with a second soon to follow. Carson is still unwilling to let any of his go...

An introduction to putt putt!! A good one it was. Daddy took the boys to his Rotary lunch (they ate as much at the buffet as most of the adults did!) then we hit the putt putt course that is inside the hotel that sponsors the Rotary meetings. it was just us, so the little wiffle balls were really flying. Pictured is Carson celebrating a hole in one, and Conner showing off his perfect form.

One day during the week after Christmas, the three CNMs spent the late afternoon at the indoor pool. The boys are swimming better and better, and are finally tall enough to go down the long water slide. They worked so hard, that after dinner they passed out on Daddy's lap on the couch! That has never come close to happening, so we shot a pic of it.

And then they wanted to duplicate the moment with Mummy. Cute pic, even though they are faking unconscousness in this one. So we put the holiday season to rest, look forward to an exciting 2011, and wish the very best for our friends and family!
