Summer slowly fades and Carson turns 12

Happy Fall, everyone!  Still pretty toasty in KS, but we are enjoying the outdoors as much as possible.  Gamilee's memorial service provided a lovely gathering for the extended Marsh clan.  The picture above is Conner being fourwheeled by Amanda's hubby-to-be, Joe.

Kyleigh was the first of the "great-grandkid" generation, and here is Carson with Winchester, the first of the NY Marsh great-grandkids.  There are two more on the way!  The ever-expanding clan...

The boys have conquered our most diffucult puzzle challenge to date.  Aunt Bernita gave us a 3,000 piece puzzle for Christmas and here the boys are putting the finishing touches on it just 9 months later.

With the fall season comes KU athletics.  There is a cool kids zone set up by the football stadium before the games, and the boys like racing each other through the inflatables.

Life sized Jenga!  What could be better!  Check out how tall the tower got before it fell.

Another cool Fall tradition in Lawrence is the Confabularium.  A big event that shows off all kinds of cool activities.  We heard a concert made completely from a tesla coil.  That was cool!  And Carson tried his hand at the pottery wheel.

We had a lovely time at Aunt Heather's lake house for Labor Day.  Grandma is in the background enjoying her large crew.

Can't have a mild-weather blog entry without a fish in it.  For once, we thought it would be fun to show Conner with a mini catch, and Carson with a big one.

Our end of summer celebration was Worlds of Fun.  We haven't been since the boys were too small for many of the rides.  So it was fun doing some serious 'coaters!

Mummy's favorite is the bumper cars!  We lucked out and found a day that wasn't too hot but also wasn't too crowded.  Must have gone through the bumper cars line a dozen times!

Carson turns 12!!!  We only have one more month without a teenager in the house.  That seems impossible.

Daddy wanted to buy him this car for his birthday, then give it to him when he was 30 or 40 and could properly care for it.  That way, Daddy could hold it for him until then...

Here were a few of the buddies that did Carson's "golden birthday" party which consisted of some intense laser tag games at Epic Fun and some tree climbing after TCBY.  Good times were had by all.
