Lovin summer

Hi everyone! Only our second post of the summer. We've celebrated Independence Day with our beloved neighbors, visited the Marsh family lake house, and as illustrated above, Conner lost his first tooth!! For several weeks, he's had two big boy teeth growing behind some loose ones. A couple nights ago, while sitting in bed not going to sleep (grrrr!), he decided to pull the tooth out himself. We called the grandparents because he said he wanted to "spread the news!"

Our little readers, sitting out by the fish pond. They go with Mummy to the library each week and choose new books. We haven't quite gotten to the point where they are truly reading, but they can spell out words and are starting to understand how you put the sounds together.

"I'm king of the world!!" Carson is our little daredevil. The three CNMs went to the lake house in Pennsylvania for a week and had a great time tubing, swimming, rowing, etc. We had lots of fun with our New York cousins, and took major strides towards being avid swimmers.

No, the boys didn't try their luck at jet skiing, but cousin Nate let them hop on board for a photo opp. Conner was fascinated by the jet ski, as he is every motorized vehicle. Remember, his first English words were bus, truck, and van...

Here are the CNMs with some of the extended fam. It gives Daddy great pleasure to see Conner and Carson enthusiastically waking up the NY cousins at the crack of dawn just as the NY cousins did to Daddy when they were the boys' age.

July 4th, 2009 was a wonderful celebration in Old West Lawrence. We took part in the neighborhood parade with our tricked out scooters, then invited Mema and Grandpa to join us in the neighborhood park to watch the awesome Lawrence firework display. It was one day after returning very late from the lake, so we had two straight evenings where the boys almost saw midnight. Very unusual, since they go to bed at 7:30 on the nose every night!

Legos rule. That's all there is to it. The boys can sit for long periods of time building all sorts of unique creations. As evidence that their parents do not force them to be organized, here they are color coordinating every Lego piece. Seriously, we didn't even ask them to do it! Anyway, we hope you are enjoying your summer, and we look forward to updating you on THE FIRST DAYS OF SCHOOL!!
