How we’re sheltering in place

Is it puzzles??  Is that what will get us through the pandemic?  Well, maybe not but it is certainly helping.  All four of us love these things, and we have powered through six of them with 1,000 pieces each!

Thought we’d post four of the six we powered through.  The cats do NOT help, but they have stayed off the puzzle table more so than usual.  Thanks, kitties.

Daddy loved this one.  Other things that are helping us with the quarantine: fishing for Conner, making fancy and fashionable masks for Mummy, working out in a neighbor’s garage for Carson and walking the neighborhood seeing neighbors at a distance for Daddy.

Ah, puzzles.  It has sort of been a family bonding thing, even though we rarely work on the puzzles as a group.  This is a crazy time.  Be good to yourself, be good to your families and let’s get through this dang mess together.

Social Distancing 101

When we last left our heroes, Conner was recovering from wisdom teeth extraction and Carson had just returned from Marco Island with Dad.  Then the virus hit and school was cancelled.  Soo...

Yup.  We decided another week in Paradise would be a lot better place to handle social distancing than Kansas.  So the boys jumped back on a plane and hung out with Grandma.  Lucky boys!

Lots of time on the beach, lots of time fishing.  Once again, time with Tom Cinquini and sweet little Mia in the park,  Things began to get real during this week.  There were even some adventures getting home.

But they made it home safe and sound, and we began life at home, 24/7.  It has required some creativity and a lot of patience.  One activity for Dad and Carson has been our wonderful neighbors the Loomis’s garage which they turned into a workout space!  Notice Carson’s new hairdo...

We are pretty lucky that one boy loves to fish and the other loves to run.  Here they are doing both!  Actually, it has been tough convincing Carson to run because he‘s not used to doing it alone.

Our neighborhood has been an absolute blessing.  Here we are meeting in Karen and Arnie’s yard with the Higginsons.  Note the very careful space left between each family!

Turns out, Conner has been practicing for this his whole life.  He is perfectly fine heading out to a secluded fishing spot.  This one happens to be another neighbor’s summer house at Lake Dabanawa.

Grandpa has chosen to upgrade his ride during the pandemic!  Carson and Dad got to take a close look at this beauty.  Does anyone else’s grandfather ride in this much style?  Stay tuned for a bonus April entry, since we have so much more time on our hands!!
