10 years ago? Amazing!

It is very hard to believe that it was 10 years ago today that we met our boys.  This blog did not begin until the 2nd trip, so it doesn't chronicle that whirlwind adventure that was our family's introduction.

We could go on and on about the 10 yr anniv, but what is more important is to celebrate the little things we're doing to make each year a success.  The CNMs collected all the sweet notes Mummy had offered us over the years and made them the table centerpiece for our Mothers Day meal.

The month has been somewhat dominated by Daddy's new job.  The DeBruce Center opened this week, and it has been fun for the whole family.  Here are the boys enjoying the Naismith statue right outside the building.

Thank heaven it is fishing season again!!  It was a historic day over the weekend when Conner invited his good buddy Preston to spend the night.  The slept in a tent in the backyard, awoke at 6:30 am and hiked a mile to a nearby fishing lake.  Stayed there until 4:30 pm!!!  And did catch bigger fish than this one, promise.

Ok, let's keep with the fishing theme.  Both boys are pretty darned artistic.  While Conner leans more to the industrial art (engineering amazing Lego creations), he can put together a fine illustration when he puts his mind to it.  Here, he took a cutout of his hero, Jeremy Wade, and did a metal etching.  Check out the detail on that shirt!!

Seriously?  More fishing?  Yup.  It is one of the primary things we hope will fill the boys time over the summer.  Here is the dock both CNMs enjoy fishing from.  Not as much when they have to share it...

You know it is a cool neighborhood when you get to play hoops amidst the blooming redbud trees.  Our neighbor Jean is so kind to let us take over her full court hoops driveway.  We're pretty sure it gives her fond memories of the b-ball battles her boys used to have.

"Hey Carson:  two blocks from our house, in the middle of historic downton Lawrence, they've closed off an entire block, filled it with sand and created a collegiate shotput course.  Let's ask our friend SuperDave if we can go to the roof of the Sandbar and watch the competition that includes world champions and olympic medalists."

Not ones to shy away from a big project, the boys are helping Mummy reupholster the fancy living room couch.  This means taking a dozen individual quilted pieces off and replacing them with new ones.  We are sure the original manufacturer was paid by the staple.  Happy spring everyone!!!
