Harveys Lake time!
Howdy! Welcome to the obligatory Lake entry for July '18. Fewer water-related pics than usual this year, for some reason.
Two boys in their own heaven. Carson loved hiking and swimming, Conner loved fishing and fishing. Most of the Harvey's Lake catches are rather small fishies, but this was a good sized Pickeral he pulled out of the middle of our little edge of the Lake.
It was unusually hot this summer, but since we were always close to the water and the constant shade of the woods, all was well. Comfortable enough for the CNMs to work on their stilt skills.
The one major benefit of warmer air temps is warmer water temps! We spent almost as much time in the water as the fish did. Even fashioned a water slide out of the row boat...
Seriously, isn't Conner starting to look a bit like cousin Geoff? Geoff is almost exactly in between Conner and Daddy in age. That's cool, right?! We should find a picture of Geoff at age 14, pictured next to a 30-year-old Daddy.
Discussions like the one above led to this little gem. A chart showing exactly how many years seperate each cousin. Doesn't include spouses, but it should! maybe a spreadsheet is in our future...
One of the most intangible magical elements of the Lake is the close connection between members of the extended family. Little Winnchester and his younger bro Rutherford got lots of attention this year, being the only true youngsters.
Watching the bond develop between Winn and Carson has been so cool. Carson loved showing off his climbing abilities when we vine swung in the back woods. So cool to have the lake outside the front door and the mountains outside the back! Three cheers for Harvey's Lake, PA!!!
