Summer in full swing
Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great early summer. The boys are heavy into swimming lessons, sports camps, reading tutoring, etc. Mummy and Daddy got a rare opportunity to dress up and go to our wonderful friends the Noltes' 30th wedding anniversary party. Barefoot Carson and Crowned Conner joined us for a picture before we left.
You may have to click on the above picture for the full effect. Carson tries very hard to keep up with his older brother's academic pursuits. He will enter kindergarten in the fall already reading and writing a bit. You really should check out the letter he wrote to his bro!
At Allen Fieldhouse for the Bill Self b-ball camp!! Daddy and Conner got to spend the night in a campus dorm (Conner's favorite part), and learn some b-ball skills from the KU players and coaches. It was awesome.
Both boys are doing the the KU sports skills camp, where you get glow-in-the-dark shirts so you're sure to be recognized anywhere on campus. They get to dabble a bit in lots of different sports to see which ones they enjoy most. This week, they get to try out tennis and (gulp) archery!! Carson calls the equipment his "bow-man arrow."
One rainy weekend day, the boys grabbed a big book of kindergarten writing and math exercises and really powered through them. Carson likes the word puzzles and Conner likes the numbers games.
"Can I borrow the car keys, Mom?" We think this looks like a very grown-up boy. You hear it from every parent on the planet that you must enjoy the time you have with your kids, because it is over in a flash. It's pictures like these that help remind us of how fast the CNMs are growing up!!
After going with Mummy to the library, there is usually a reading session on the front steps. Conner's first grade teacher is helping him with his reading so he can hit the ground running in August. We have a trip to the PA lake house soon, then home for a bit before going to Chicago and Minnesota to visit close friends. Slow down, summer!!!
