Thank goodness for Spring!
Ohmygosh, it is so nice to finally feel the weather warming up! Winter was just a little too long and a little to cold this year. A bit of cabin fever may have set in, and the Marsh clan is definitely ready to welcome spring!
In order to survive the long winter, we started getting creative with our indoor activities. The boys love playing in their sleeping bags. They ask to be "covered" in them, and them squirm across the floor like inchworms. They have two sets of bags, and we alternate depending on their...moods.
By now, you know that we don't over-encourage Conner and Carson to be big Jayhawk fans, right? You know that it seems to just come naturally that they love the Jayhawk, and they love KU sports. Right? Here is Conner, the day after the big KU-KSU b-ball victory. He decided his favorite dinosaur needed to shake the crimson and blue pom pom. Go KU!
This is an updated chart from several entries ago. We have been hearing so much about the challenges faced by people who wanted to adopt children from Russia last year. We saw how drastic the changes were to policies and procedures, and wondered how that would effect the number of children who found homes. This chart shows that both China and Russia recorded significant declines in the number of visas issued for internationally adopted children. We certainly aren't knowledgeable enough to know exactly what all this means. But we know it means that 1) there are lots of sweet children in both countries who deserve good homes, and 2) we are so, so lucky to have completed the process before things got too rough.
So here are our two little dudes, cheesing for the camera, sporting rugby shirts and invisible pants. They are growing like weeds, and will both start pre-school in the fall. Until then, we will usher in the spring with lots of outdoor activities, not the least of which will be working in Mummy's new vegatable garden!
