As summer progresses
Wow, it is already almost time for our trip to the Lake. And when we return, Conner heads to MS&T for a program that helps him hit the ground running his freshman year.
Because Covid forced him to miss his graduation, we tried to really do it right for his party. Mom put an impressive photo display on the wall, and he put an equally impressive display in the living room.
Here is the living room display. A great turnout of friends and family, some very good food and a slide show from his Eagle ceremony. A very big celebration for the graduate!
Darby came for the celebration too. He and Carson agreed to a picture so that we could highlight an early blog photo of the two of them from eleven years earlier. Darby is doing great, and will be one of the stars in a production of Shrek next month.
Conner was the consummate host during his party. Engaged friends and neighbors, explaining his college plans and showing off the displays in his honor. It was so nice to see him enjoying his consolation party.
A few days after the party, we marched him up to the high school to officially receive his diploma. The poor guy was parentally forced to wear his regalia and pose for several pics. Doesn't Mom look nice?
One big positive during the challenging quarantine was the purchase of a car for Conner! Grandpa Jack's Suzuki has been such a great first car, but it is heading towards 200k miles and does not seem like it would make the trip to Rolla. So a 2014 Honda Accord is a welcome addition to the Marsh fleet.
