Harvey's Lake 2016
Hello from the extended clan! Over 20 of us converged on the Harvey's Lake house for our annual July 4th gathering. This fun group photo shows two NY Marshes who are pregnant, and will be adding to the fifth generation cousin crew shortly.
Here are two of the fifth generation crew enjoying a field (?) of lily pads in the row boat. More on teh lilies in a bit...
Vine swinging! We took a one-year hiatus from the tradition last year because of a bear sighting, but decided to brave the mountain with Uncle Ted this year (not pictured) since he is somewhat of a bear himself.
Would it surprise you to hear that there was lots of fishing? Conner is showing off his lovely yellow perch. The boys stepped it up this year and brought their own reels and tackle.
A quick nod to the lovely Harvey's Lake lillies. We brought some tubers home many years ago, and now several neighborhood fish ponds are sporting these northeastern beauties. It's nice to have a summer-long reminder of the Lake house.
Cousin Nate came to the Lake on a motorcycle this year. A first for the Marsh family? We thing maybe so. He let Carson try on his super cool riding jacket which weighed almost as much as Carson.
This year we ushered in two new kayaks! What a great addition. Not only could we paddle around the outlet, not only could the CNMs do some mid-lake fishing, but when some sailboat equipment failed, the kayak became a tugboat!
If the kayaks weren't enough excitement for one week, Diana's dad brought his scuba gear! Daddy got to scuba dive in the Lake for the first time since he was Carson's age. So cool, if not fashionable.
Yup. We wore ourselves out every evening. Sometimes we didn't even make it to the bedrooms.
Look, it's Smink in the sink!! It's where she likes to drink...we think. Wink, wink.
Just a few weeks left of summer. Next post will be heralding the start of a new school year with two middle schooler!! Please stop growing up, fellas...
