What did you do over holiday break?
Hi there! The holidays seem like a long time ago, but we need to post Christmas pics and general fun activities that happened over break. Even though Carson was willing to sit with Santa, this was the year that both boys figured out the real scoop. :-(
Maybe they figured it out when they saw that each of their presents was color coded! Only Mummy would be that fancy, right? If you look hard, you'll see new snowboards. That, of course, meant no snow over break...
The Marsh fam finally got a formal portrait taken!!! We have several different pics that we'll share over the next few blog posts. It was a fun process, and the boys were great about smiling for so long.
So, how do you entertain two kiddos for two straight weeks of vacation? Keep them as busy as possible, I guess. Here they are in KC after visiting the Parracks.
And here they are trying out ice skating at Lawrence's new rink. It was fun, and the boys did great, but the rink is "synthetic ice," which kind of pales in comparison to the real thing.
Then it was back to KC with Uncle Ted to check out the Reptile Show and the Prairie Fire Museum. The snakes were definitely the biggest hit. They loved the mice too, until they learned why you have mice at a reptile show...
Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles. This one was particularly hard, because it was 1,000 pieces that all looked the same--some yellow, some green. Enough to permanently cross your eyes.
Visited a pet store and got to play with parrots, hermit crabs, ferrets and impossibly adorable baby bunnies.
Conner's last year as a cub scout! He has chosen boy scout troop 53 so he can stay with his buddy Sawyer. They are pictured here at their final pinewood derby. He made a car that looked like Daddy's 300 (so cool), and got a trophy for 2nd in den.
Ah, yes. The wonderful, annual Kras Connection NYE party. This year it was at the Parracks, and we did some indoor swimming, lots of goofing off in their basement, a fun bonfire and a new year's toast with what looks like straight bourbon, but we promise it wasn't.
So, we brought in the new semester with a visit from the Pres! The boys didn't get to go, which was a bummer, but because his speech was given on the KU campus, Daddy had a very, very busy and exciting week. Barrack Chalk, Jayhawk!
