The wrong kind of casting
Happy fall, everyone! The heat of the summer is behind us, and its time to celebrate September with a few fun pics. The boys sold cucumbers (without the b) and lemonade one warm day in order to raise money to replace a lamp they broke...
We spent Memorial Day at Aunt Heather and Uncle Brad's lake house and had a blast. Conner the expert fisherman caught this lovely fish that is hard to see because of his fish-holding glove.
We were devastated to miss the Sandbar block party this year, but stopped by during the Busker Fest and took an updated pic outside their front door. Carson is several months into braces and if he can just keep from messing with the wires, he can get them taken off someday.
Still experts in puzzles, although the puzzlemaster title has transfered from Carson to Conner. Carson still has an uncanny ability to see the hole a specific piece fits in, but only Conner has the attention span for the kind of puzzle pictured above--1,000 pieces.
And then there is this. Don't adjust your screens, that is a wavey arm. Broken radius bone as a result of being bounced off the trampoline by his brother. Conner handled it unbelievably. He was a pillar of strength and only got in a bit of trouble coming out of the anesthetic and calling a nurse ugly.
Hasn't really slowed him down much! He insists on dressing alone, doing homework with his left hand, and continuing to construct great masterpieces without assistance.
Our first month of St. John's Elementary is in the books! It is going very well. Above, Carson is co-presenting with a classmate about Mesa Verde. They are working hard on schoolwork and enjoying lots of extracuriculars as well.
One of the new activities is a cross country team. Here is Carson finishing strong in his first race. He was tenth out of about 40 or 50 boys.
The Kras Connection! Carson has a fun 9th b-day party at the Indoor Aquatic Center. Poor Conner couldn't swim with the group, but Carson, as a form of penitence, offered him all his new presents to play with.
A quick pic of the kitties. They are growing so fast! Must be all the sleeping they are doing...
