Bye to summer, hello to school!
First day back at Pinckney Elementary! It seems the whole family is ready to get back into the swing of the school year. But first, some fun end-of-summer memories:
We spent a day at the Wellsville Marsh's house with some very fun activities including trampoline, games of pool and Mummy's fav--four wheeling!
Here are the boys with Aunt Jen and cousin Brandon giving their horse a cool-down. We didn't ride because it was one of many 100 degree days, but the horses really appreciated the shower.
I know, we've highlighted our downtown barber shop in an earlier entry. Thought we'd do it again because its such a fun picture.
Back to Harvey's Lake for a moment to share some fun tubing pictures. The one on the left was taken just before Conner and Daddy had a spectacular wipeout that sent Conner flipping through the air. He loved it!
Carson deleloped a special bond with the NY Marsh's puppy Ranger. They spent lots of time hanging out together on the porch. There has been talk of adding a pet or two to our home now...
While Conner was away at fossil camp (see below) Carson had fun at Harry Potter camp and hit the bike trails with Daddy a couple times. It is getting hard for Daddy to keep up with them on the trails anymore.
Fossil camp with Grandma! What an adventure. Enlarge the picture above to see a way cool fossil at Conner's feet.
It was Uncle George and Aunt Margie who helped set up the camp close to their home outside of Louisville. They help with the local zoo and a colonial village, among other things. Conner was in heaven.
So, our little athlete and our little paleontologist have started 2nd and 3rd grade. It is so fun watching them start to choose their paths. If only we could encourage them to stop growing up so fast!

What a cool fossil! I wonder what it was? Conner looks SO grown up in that photo, and so does Carson in the one right above it.
