Our first Pinewood Derby!

Hey, two entries in one month! The CNMs just experienced their first Pinewood Derby and we had a great time. Look at the stylin rods they are showing off.



We weighed in at 8 a.m. and had time to goof around for a while. Here is Conner in the Derby cutout. We learned at weigh in that we were much lighter than we needed to be. That proved to be our downfall during the actual races...



Posing in front of the race track. Neither guy won a single race, but by golly they just talked about how we need to make the cars faster next year! Daddy thought quick and proposed that we needed the cars to go more slowly so people could see how cool they were.



So we had a lot of fun for our first time. The boys helped design the cars, did lots of sanding, amost all the painting (thanks for the flames, Mummy) and made some fab cars.



The big story about early 2012 is the weather. Gorgeous! Here we are doing some coatless tree climbing. So awesome to have comfortable outdoor activity this early in the year. All three CNMs like tree climbing. There must be a fair amount of monkey in their blood...
