turtles, tractors, teeth and...(the)sandbar
Whoah, where did May go? We've had a lovely time with Mummy's favorite month. (we celebrated her 28th b-day yesterday). It has been such a great month that we missed putting an entry in by one day. But this will be a long one, with fun pics and new activities, so buckle up!
Aaargh, mateys! Here be two pirates bellied up to the Sandbar throwin down two waters on the rocks. Mind you, this was the middle of the day, the bar was closed, and we were just saying a quick hello to SuperDave while he worked on their outdoor patio. He was so great to give the boys such cool toys for their libations! They even made it onto the Sandbar blog!
Preschool ended mid-May, and the school celebrated with a field-trip to the Deanna Rose petting zoo. Mummy and the boys had a nice time, and got this fun pic in between pettings. It certainly has been an adjustment, having both boys home all day! Just think of the adjustment in two and a half months, when Conner goes to all-day kindergarten.
Here are all the Marsh cousins, minus Branden who was snoozing. We went to cousin Casey's lake house in April, and cousin Kyliegh's house in Wellsville in May. We are prepping for a trip to the Pennsylvania lake house this month, and to Chicago in July to see Aunt Jilly and Uncle Ronan's new house. That trip will be the first time all four of us have flown together since coming home in August '06.
Can we please have just one entry without Jayhawk pictures??!!
No.
Sweet ride! And the boys are sporting their farmer's overalls too. They have been really good helpers with yardwork this month. They are great mulchers, gardeners and weed pullers! What they lack in efficiency, they make up for in enthusiasm.
You can't see it in this close-up, but Conner has a way-loose tooth. And the new one is not waiting at all. He tells everyone he sees, "I have a loose tooth! And a big-boy tooth right behind it!" Grandpa keeps suggesting we tie a string between the tooth and his Jeep...
Check it out! We inherited a turtle! Adam and Erin, from Daddy's work, were looking for a good home for a 13 year-old "red eared slider." The boys are really jazzed. They are taking care of him, making sure he doesn't get out of sight (very fast turtle), and helped us make a habitat for him in the back yard. We haven't decided whether to keep his given name, "Plato," or choose a new one. Conner wants to name him Max, and Carson wants to name him Toad. :-)
Yeah, another pic with the Sandbar goodies. Click on the pic to enlarge it, and you'll see that Carson's glasses have green eyes and Conner's have blue. From day one, we color coded these boys. Everything from toys to underpants. Conner gets blue and Carson gets green, unless green isn't an option, then he gets red. Although red supposedly encourages hyperactivity, so we are sort of rethinking that choice...
