What a huge month for the Marshes

Started last month's entry with a Conner baby pic, started this month's entry with a senior photo.  A friend of the family who also happens to be Lawrence's best photographer gave us 50 pictures and we love every one of them.  We'll post some more in the coming months.

This has been a very active month for the Marsh clan.  These two have been bouncing all over the place trying to keep up with their boys.  Here we are posing at Rim Rock Farms which is Lawrence's primary Cross Country course.  Just trying to catch a glimpse of Carson and his teammates.

Both the boys and girls varsity teams qualified for State championships.  The boys did it by winning Regionals for the fourth straight year.  Carson is the only junior on the team, with four sophomores and two seniors.  The lone senior on the team next year?

Back to this guy.  Rather hard to catch him in a photograph, by the way.  He is wearing a gift he had just received during his 18th birthday party.  What?!  Yes, 18.  How did that happen?  And why is he wearing a Missouri hoodie?

Because we took him to tour the campus of Missouri Science and Technology, in Rolla.  A small engineering school in the south-central part of the state.  Conner really liked it, and now that he has a hoodie, he is for sure going there...

Thought this was a cool picture of Carson, and we needed something to go in between talking about Conner's college choice and talking about his progress towards Eagle Scout.

Not a fabulous picture to depict his scouting activities, but it does show Conner walking to his car to turn in the very last documentation for Eagle Scout.  It has been a lot of work, and it culminated just days before his 18th birthday (which is the hard deadline).  But he did it!  The only thing left is called the Board of Review, which is kind of like defending your thesis.  We'll keep you posted.

Because we needed more excitement to close out 2021, the long awaited project to refurbish and reconstruct our front landing has commenced.  A really cool craftsman in town has agreed to do it for us, and we did the demo last week.  Lots of sledgehammering and hauling off concrete and bricks. So jazzed to get this going!

We also got some time with our lovely neighbors' pets this month.  We have watched their two cats for them in the past, but this time got to watch the two dogs as well.  The entire month of October held really nice weather, so we enjoyed being outside with the animals and on their back porch.  (Rock Chalk!)
