Harvey's Lake and a big anniversary
Fifteen years ago this month, we got the call saying it was time to head halfway across the world to bring home the CNMs. Thus began the Krasnoyarsk Adventure. What an amazing 15 years.
Check it out! Our first trip to Harvey's Lake since 2019. And Conner's first trip since the year before. Seems we were all excited to reconvene, since there were 28 people and five dogs! ( Compare to this one from 2016. )
Conner took this picture one morning when he went to the dock to fish at sunrise. What a wonderful trip this was. The weather cooperated for the most part and we had a blast.
The CNMs arrived a day before the 4th, so we got to fully partake in the holiday festivities. Travel was a little scary, and we had to mask the entire time. But the 'Murica outfits were in full swing and the fireworks on the lake once again offered what felt like a private show.
Wow, the number of littles exploded! Dad and his siblings are three, the NY Marsh cousins are five, the KS Marsh grandchilren are seven, and now there are six NY Marsh grandchildren! Carson especially enjoyed playing with the kiddos.
There were plenty of opportunities for the CNMs to show the others how it's done. Even Dad got into the action by performing important traditional dock jumps such as the Flying Squirrel.
Another tradition is the mountain hike and vine swing. The CNMs were the last to leave the Lake, so we got to do some serious hiking with the Geoff Marsh crew, Uncle Dan and Uncle Ted.
Photo evidence of Conner teaching Geoff a little about the art of fishing. Conner got to spend some QT with three Eagle Scouts during the week, which we expect will help him complete his requirements.
Obligatory fish pic. Not a huge catch, but our part of the Lake doesn't seem to hold many big fish. Still, it is a good looking Pickerel and still blogworthy.
With 28 people at the house, there were opportunities for a few concerts. Several ukuleles were on hand this year, which inspired this porch performance.
Sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, swimming...it was an amazing week. So wonderful to spend time with the extended Marsh clan at our beloved lake house.
