Virtual Fall education
This is how "going to school" looks in our house. Both boys have handled the beginning of the semester very well. We count ourselves lucky that neither boy is starting his freshman year and neither is starting his senior year.
While school has begun 100% online, cross country has begun in person. Carson has enjoyed a strong start to his sophomore season, scoring a personal record in each of the first three meets. The runners start and finish the races with masks on, taking them off in between.
Birthdays are hard to celebrate for everyone during the pandemic. Conner really stepped it up this year for his bro, gifting him a sweet running jacket for the impending cold days.
Not until the very end of the month did we begin to feel Autumn's chill. It has been a mild summer and a warm beginning to Fall, so Conner has been fishing and fishing and fishing. One more month until he can drive himself to these fishing spots. His parents are counting the days...
And here is how you get a haircut during a pandemic. The masks poke the ears out a bit, making it a little easier for John and Jess to cut those hard to reach spots! Our beloved downtown is struggling, forcing each business to find creative ways to keep the doors open.
Carson did get a huge b-day gift this year. Definitely not the kind of car his parents envisioned for him, but he proposed a plan we could not refuse, offering to pay for three-fourths of this little convertible mini-Cooper himself. It is a manual, so Dad has spent lots of time with him this month in nearby parking lots.
