Spring Break and basketball
Rock Chalk!! The Jayhawks are in the Final Four, and we are posting this entry before they play. Here's a picture from 2008 for good luck.
And here are the CNMs ten years later, celebrating on Mass St with Ross and Mrs. Wildgen after the win against Duke.
While on the topic of b-ball, here is Carson's 7th grade St John team in their brand new gym. They ended the season in first place, but didn't win the tourney. This group has been playing together for years, and they are a great group of young men.
No big plans this year for spring break. So the CNMs took off on a bit of an adventure. Here we are just before the journey began...
Grandma Marsh lives just a few miles from Mema and Grandpa Bailey. But the land between the two houses is largely undeveloped. So we decided to hike from one house to the other!
We knew from the map that there were some ponds between the houses, so Conner brought his trusty fishing pole and pulled up a few feisty fellas.
It took a surprisingly long time to reach our destination. There were clearings and farmlands and we did our fair share of bushwhacking. But after a four hour trek, we got to the Baileys safe and sound.
It is usually Conner who graces the blog with his prize catches. But Carson caught this beauty while at his friend's for a sleepover during spring break.
Five pound largemouth bass. He isn't as comfortable handling fish as his brother is, so his buddy's older brother held it up for the trophy picture before throwing it back.
So there is a lot of Jayhawk b-ball excitement in the air. The CNMs want to wish you a happy spring, and we hope to be celebrating some warm weather activities very soon!
