Summer is just around the corner
Wow, it is already time to set our sites towards summer. It has been a lovely late spring, with mild weather and outdoor activities galore. Want to hear about them?
Here is the first student at St John's elementary to reach 100 miles in marathon club. He finished the year with a staggering 126 miles. A running runner...
And here is our marine biologist. This was a spontaneous morning project that had him documenting a set of preditory aquatic species on the old fashioned chalkboard.
Carson's buddy Ben and Conner's buddy Sawyer having a lovely dinner with us. We hope to see both of these cool kiddos frequently over the summer.
KU's Spencer Art Museum closed down for some serious renovations, and they had a fun party before the closing. Here are Conner and Daddy being goofy in front of some important historical piece.
Ok, this is really cool. The boys were asked to take part in a video project for a program called "Outside for a Better Inside." They have the well-deserved reputation of being active outdoors, so they get to play a role in a video that encourages children to spend more time outdside.
Here they are on the trails that parallel the Kansas River. They also got recorded looking for fossils by the river banks. Hope to send you a link to the finished product!
Another KU icon closed this spring, but not for renovation. The Jaybowl is a spot we have visited a few times, but not enough to keep its revenues at a healthy level. The boys enjoyed a Cosmic Bowling session just a week or so before it closed for good.
A big deal that happened this April was Justine Nolte's wedding. Mummy was a big part of the wedding preparations and management. Here she is with the family, and a couple other Nolte superstars. A very memorable occasion. (ok, several combined occasions...)
